It was advertised via social media and leaflet drop in the Surrey Herald and we got a very good response.
It turned out to be a fantastic opportunity for people to come in and discuss dental implants in an informal and friendly atmosphere over a glass or two of fizz or a coffee, although there is always a friendly atmosphere and coffee here at Portmore, sadly no fizz!!!
Dr Johann Styger, our dental implantologist, was on hand to offer short free consultations of which we had a good uptake and was found to be very informative from the patient point of view. The PRGF (Plasma Rich in Growth Factors) procedure was of particular interest, this is where blood is taken from which your proteins are obtained. This plasma is then placed in areas where healing or regeneration of tissue or bone is needed. The recovery and healing process is quicker so the risk of infection is reduced with less swelling and pain. We also had a representative from one of the implant supply company we use who was on hand to talk about the technical side of implants which I think we all found interesting.
All in all it turned out to be an enjoyable, informal yet informative evening. Should we do it again I would urge anyone with even the slightest interest in dental implants to come along and find out what it’s all about…..one evening could change your life!!!!« back to news
