CONTACT US Emergency Dentist Surrey FAQs
Not all dental issues are considered a dental emergency. Chipped and cracked teeth for example aren’t always classed as a dental emergency, and you should wait for an appointment with your dentist unless sharp fragments remain in your mouth or you’re in severe pain. The same goes for toothache, if you can hold out to be seen by your dentist you should. However, if your toothache lasts for more than 1-2 days and you’re still in pain, you could have advanced decay or even an infection and should see an emergency dentist as soon as possible before your condition worsens. Missing crowns or fillings also aren’t considered an emergency, but your dentist may be able to get you booked in sooner for a repair.
Emergency visits at Portmore Dental cost £150 – this doesn’t include the cost of the specific treatment you need. Meaning you’ll need to cover these associated costs separately. We understand that dental emergencies can happen at any time, and you may not always be financially prepared. Which is why we offer a selection of different ways to pay – including dental finance – to help you cover the cost of your emergency dental treatment. Many patients who come to us with an emergency dental issue choose to pay for their treatment using our 0% finance option – which allows them to spread the cost over smaller, more affordable monthly instalments. To find out more about our fees, or for help applying for dental finance, give our friendly reception team a call today on 01932 988 465.
Absolutely! No matter if you’re a new or existing patient, we’d be happy to see you in the event of a dental emergency. Whether you can’t get an appointment with your regular dentist, or you aren’t registered anywhere else, we keep a select number of appointment times open for such situations. So, if you need to see an emergency dentist in Surrey, don’t hesitate to get in touch, and we’ll try our best to see you as soon as possible.
First things first, our dentists will identify the cause of the problem you’re experiencing. We do this by performing a visual examination and taking some X-ray images of the affected area. Once the cause of your problem has been found, we’ll provide appropriate treatment and be sure to answer any questions or address any concerns you may have about the procedure. For some, this could mean simply prescribing painkillers to manage any discomfort at home, but for others, it could mean a filling, root canal or extraction. After your emergency appointment, we’ll provide aftercare advice and may invite you back for a follow-up appointment, just to check up on your progress and ensure the issue is fully resolved.
